We would like to encourage you to take part in the photography and film contest My language. My culture.
Each participant is entitled to submit up to four entries: maximum three photographs and maximum one film.
Works should represent minority languages or non-standard linguistic varieties and their culture. They can be made using any technique.
Each photo should illustrate one of these three categories:
- Language and culture around me - photos depicting the presence of language and culture in any kind of space, landscape or objects,
- Language and its people - photos depicting people and their culture in connection with a minority language,
- Here and now - photos documenting past or present situations and events related to linguistic and cultural diversity, or linguistic activism.
There is only one film contest category:
- 60 seconds - the maximum length of an entry is 60 seconds including credits.
Each entries should be accompanied by the following information:
a) Title, category and description (maximum 100 words) of the photographic entry
b) Name, age, email, and city and country of residence of the contestant
c) If under the age of 18, the contestant must attach a scan or photo of his or her parent’s or legal guardian’s consent to participate in the Contest. The consent form template can be found below in art. 9.1. Contestants 18 or older must attach a scan or photo of the adult consent form. This template can be found art. 9.2. in official rules and regulations document.
Entries should be submitted electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org between August 20 and 12:00am October 1, 2018.
In-kind prizes shall be awarded in the Contest for winners of each category.
A shortlist of up to ten finalists and the winner in each category will be announced on October 15, 2018 on the http://engagedhumanities.al.uw.edu.pl/ website. They will also be notified by email.
